Southern Charm’s Olivia Flowers ‘Blindsided’ by Production Team

Southern Charm star Olivia Flowers recently opened up about how she felt “blindsided” by the show’s production team. She shared her feelings on Scheana Shay’s podcast, shedding light on an unexpected turn of events that left many fans in shock. Despite the abrupt change, Olivia remains resilient and positive, choosing to speak out about her experience.

Olivia Flowers had a brief romantic relationship with Austen Kroll, which lasted for about six months. However, their relationship took a hit when Kroll was seen kissing Olivia’s best friend, Taylor Ann Green. This incident not only ended their romantic relationship but also caused a rift in Olivia’s friendship with Taylor. Olivia recounted a chance encounter with Kroll at a party but noted that they’ve essentially gone their separate ways.

“We both just kind of went our separate ways. As small as Charleston is, we haven’t run into each other at all yet. We just went to one dinner the other night and kind of bumped in, but I think moved on.”

During the last season of Southern Charm, Olivia was dealing with the aftermath of these personal issues and did not feel the need to maintain her friendship with Kroll. She had hoped to use this time to heal from the recent drama.

Recently, Olivia revealed a surprising update about her status on the show. She shared that she had been let go from Southern Charm, a decision that came out of the blue for her.

“I was super bummed, I got the call like, a few weeks before filming. The production company was just like, ‘You don’t really seem to be in Charleston that much. We’re noticing on your Instagram you’re in Texas, you’ve got this new boyfriend, and it just seems like you’re choosing a different path. So yeah, I was super bummed about it, I feel like I really gave everything I could given the circumstance, you know? Charleston wasn’t the happiest place for me at that time. My friend group had completely changed after filming, my house brought back some difficult memories. I wanted to take that beat for filming. Had I known it was working against me or coming across a certain way? … I was just like, ‘What?’ I went from feeling pretty confident and excited for the next [season] to then being… blindsided.”

This development was particularly disheartening for Olivia. She expressed that better communication from the production team could have led to a different outcome. Olivia did not feel she was veering off in another direction, but was instead focused on healing and spending time with her family in Texas. She would have been ready to return to Charleston for filming and to possibly mend broken friendships.

Olivia reportedly had plans and aspirations for the upcoming season, which made the decision even more perplexing. The production team’s assessment that she no longer fit within the show’s framework was unexpected. She felt that her temporary absence from Charleston was misinterpreted, impacting her position on the show unfairly.

As Olivia reflects on this tumultuous time, she continues to remain positive and open about her experience. Many fans are left wondering about the internal dynamics of the show following these revelations.
