Steins;Gate Marks 15th Anniversary with New Art

It has been fifteen years since the original Steins;Gate game introduced the time-traveling world to anime fans and gamers alike. Since its initial debut, the series has inspired various anime adaptations and games, exploring the human psyche and featuring an eclectic cast of characters grappling with the concept of time travel.

To mark the anniversary of the original visual novel that started it all, Steins;Gate has unveiled a new key visual that reunites the beloved cast. Additionally, an event is planned this fall to celebrate the franchise’s milestone, bringing together the cast members for a special gathering.

Steins;Gate One World is the event that will commemorate this significant occasion for the anime franchise. Although no new projects have been announced featuring the return of characters like Rintaro, Mayuri, and Seki, it’s evident that the series still holds a special place in the hearts of its fans. Scheduled for October 27th in Matsudo Chiba, the event will feature a reunion of several cast members. Those returning include Mamoru Miyano (Rintaro), Kana Hanazawa (Mayuri), Tomokazu Seki (Itaru), Asami Imai (Kurisu), Saori Goto (Moeka), Yu Kobayashi (Luka), and Haruko Momoi (Rumiho).

The last anime project within the Steins;Gate universe was Steins;Gate Zero, which premiered in 2018 from Studio White Fox. This recent series offered a fresh perspective on the franchise by depicting the “beta world” of Rintaro Okabe. Like many other stories in pop culture today, this anime favorite embraced the concept of the multiverse.

For those eager to explore the world of Steins;Gate, Crunchyroll streams both the original series and the latest release, Steins;Gate Zero. The streaming service describes the franchise as follows: “Steins;Gate follows an eclectic group of individuals who have the ability to send text messages to the past. Throughout their experimentation process, an organization named SERN, which has been conducting its own research on time travel, tracks them down. Now, it’s a delicate game of cat and mouse to avoid getting caught and, moreover, try to survive.”
