Stephen King of Maine Appears in TV Show Not Based on His Books

There are numerous movie and television adaptations based on Stephen King’s works.

You might have even noticed the Maine native making cameos in some of those productions.

Over the years, he has appeared in various small roles, such as a diner patron on “Mr. Mercedes” and “Under the Dome,” Johnny B. Goode on “Kingdom Hospital,” Teddy Weizak on “The Stand,” and more recently, a shopkeeper in “It Chapter Two.”

But there was one show in 2010 on FX where his appearance had nothing to do with his own stories and novels. That show was “Sons of Anarchy.”

Known only as Bachman, likely a nod to his pen name Richard Bachman, King appeared in one episode of the biker series starring Charlie Hunnam. It was in the third episode of the third season.

Bachman is called in to handle a dead body. Surprised by the role he played?

According to the Guardian, he accepted the role when the show’s creator, Kurt Sutter, invited him, promising he could ride a Harley-Davidson in a scene if he agreed to be in an episode. King took up the offer.

Sometimes you just want to ride a motorcycle on camera.

Check out the clip of his appearance here.

His stint on the show was a one-time event, as he never appeared again throughout the rest of the series.

Perhaps in the future, King might take on another role unrelated to his renowned works. Keep your eyes peeled!
