Steven Ogg of Walking Dead publishes poetry book and stars in Boiling Point

Actor Steven Ogg, renowned for his portrayal of Simon in "The Walking Dead" and the voice of Trevor Philips in "Grand Theft Auto V," has recently ventured into the literary world. Ogg has been sharing snippets of poetry on his social media platforms, culminating in the release of his first book, "Catharse – is Volume 1."

The book, published by the UK-based Pegasus Publishers, is a compilation of what Ogg describes as "Ogg-mented realities." These encompass cathartic moments that individuals encounter in their day-to-day lives. Ogg’s intention is to create a sense of unity through shared experiences, fostering an environment where people feel less isolated and begin the process of healing. He hopes that the book will encourage readers to move forward with renewed hope and diminished pain.

Steven Ogg can also be seen in the BBC mini-series "Boiling Point," which was released on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in 2023 and is now available for streaming on Netflix. The series acts as both a continuation and a standalone sequel to the 2021 film of the same name. Created by Philip Barantini, James Cummings, and Stephen Graham, the mini-series sees many of the original film’s cast reprising their roles. Barantini directed the first two episodes, while the last two were directed by Mounia Akl. Impressively, the series has achieved a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

"Boiling Point" evolves from a 2019 short film also directed by Barantini and starring Stephen Graham. The series is set six months after the film, focusing on Carly, played by Vinette Robinson. Carly now owns and operates her own restaurant, having previously worked under the main character Andy, portrayed by Stephen Graham.

Steven Ogg joins the "Boiling Point" cast as sous-chef Nick, alongside returning actors Stephen Graham, Vinette Robinson, and Hannah Walters. The ensemble also includes Ray Panthaki, Gary Lamont, Áine Rose Daly, Taz Skylar, Daniel Larkai, Stephen McMillan, Hannah Traylen, and Izuka Hoyle.

In 2024, Ogg will reprise his role as Simon in "The Walking Dead" spinoff, "Dead City." This series will include flashbacks to moments when Negan, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, was ruling at the Sanctuary, revisiting a storyline that was central to the main series.

Ogg’s versatility extends beyond "The Walking Dead" and "Grand Theft Auto V." He has gained global recognition for various other roles, including Rebus in HBO’s "Westworld," Sobchak in AMC’s "Better Call Saul," Pike in TNT’s "Snowpiercer," and a part in AppleTV’s film "Emancipation."

Steven Ogg’s filmography is set to expand further with numerous indie projects. These include roles in "Blind River," "Darth Match," "Hazard," "The Dresden Sun," "The Ghost Trap," "Scared Sh**less," and most recently, "Concessions."
