‘Summer House’ Star Hannah Berner Says She Wasn’t Fired

Hannah Berner is shedding light on her departure from Bravo’s popular series Summer House.

The comedian had a significant fallout with co-stars Amanda Batula and her husband, Kyle Cooke, due to conflicts over Cooke’s beverage company, Loverboy.

During her recent appearance on the BFFs podcast, hosted by Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, Berner was questioned about the rumors surrounding her exit after Season 5. Specifically, if she was let go for promoting a rival seltzer drink.

“Oh, wow, Dave is on his s–t. The truth is, beef started because I did an ad for Truly [Hard] Seltzer, and I didn’t know that I wasn’t allowed to,” the 32-year-old told Portnoy.

Berner insisted that “Bravo didn’t fire” her, explaining that “some people on the cast got annoyed,” and the situation gradually escalated.

Portnoy continued to press, asking if the cast members’ frustration was linked to Loverboy.

“Yeah, that was a big storyline on the show. I didn’t know that I wasn’t allowed to drink other drinks,” Berner said.

She remarked that “some of these shows become a lot about egos.”

“And it’s like, ‘It’s my show. It’s my drink. You can’t do that,'” added Berner. “There are no clear rules, and it just turns into fights over egos and screen time, and it’s not that fun after being on it for so many seasons.”

Berner left Summer House in 2021, explaining at the time that she wanted to focus on her comedy career.

She recently released a comedy special, We Ride at Dawn, on Netflix.

Before joining Summer House, Berner was a regular on the popular chat show The Taylor Strecker Show.
