Supreme Court rejects Mark Meadows’ defense of ‘just following orders’

Former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows has asked the Supreme Court to recognize immunity for the president’s subordinates. Meadows and Donald Trump were charged for trying to overturn Biden’s election win in Georgia. Meadows wanted the Supreme Court to rule in favor of immunity for subordinates even if Trump himself doesn’t have immunity. Trump’s appointee, Justice Gorsuch, disagreed and believed that subordinates should be held liable as a deterrent against presidents committing crimes.
