The Supreme Court has agreed to review a decision invalidating a Biden administration rule aimed at regulating “ghost guns,” unserialized firearms assembled from online kits. The rule requires manufacturers and sellers to obtain licenses, mark products, perform background checks, and keep purchase records. Gun owners and distributors challenged the rule, claiming it exceeded ATF authority. The 5th Circuit invalidated parts of the rule. The Justice Department argues that allowing unregulated distribution of ghost gun parts poses a threat to public safety. The case will be heard in the next Supreme Court term.
