Tallulah Willis Teams Up with Hollywood’s Favorite Bedding Brand Kumi Kookoon

MILAN – Tallulah Willis has made a notable move into the home decor world. On Wednesday, the 30-year-old creative and entrepreneur introduced a capsule bedding collection in collaboration with the luxurious silk brand Kumi Kookoon. Named Kumi Koobuu, the six-piece collection boasts jewel tones and offers a modern twist on the sultry classics that the Los Angeles brand is celebrated for.

“Interior design has become a passion of mine and a big part of my creative process, second only to fashion. I’ve spent the last few years honing my eye and focusing on brands and pieces that bring me joy,” Willis shared with WWD, noting that her parents, actors Demi Moore and Bruce Willis, introduced her to the brand.

Willis collaborated closely with Kumi Kookoon’s team to create four new colors: heller pink, lodi green, tangerine, and blood orange. The line’s centerpiece is its silk-filled throws, complemented by contrast-stitched boudoir pillows in five different shades. The collection also includes a French-pleated slipper, a fitted flat sheet, duvet cover, sleep mask, and hair tie for a complete silk sleep set.

Fans of the brand include celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow, Leighton Meester, Scarlett Johansson, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Jamie Lee-Curtis, and Blake Lively. Kumi Kookoon is known for its hypoallergenic coverings which are good for hair and resistant to mold. The brand’s products are crafted by a small group of female artisans in China who use traditional methods passed down through generations.

“I’m a huge fan of Kumi Kookoon and have been since I was a kid. It’s an all-female company, crafted by local female artisans who hand-dye each piece of silk in China,” Willis enthused. “It’s really luxurious, there’s nothing else like it. This collaboration has been years in the making and I cannot wait to show the world how delicious it is!”

The youngest daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis has been vocal about the pressures of growing up in the public eye and its effects on her mental health.

This venture isn’t Willis’ first foray into design. In 2020, she launched the Wyllis clothing label, which included a mental health component. Garment tags were printed with information about the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline and the National Alliance on Mental Illness Helpline.

Founded in Los Angeles in 2003 by Jennifer Chang, a former Deloitte & Touche employee, Kumi Kookoon initially sold products online and at ABC Home & Carpet stores. In 2012, the brand opened its first store in the port city of Dalian on the Chinese Mainland. Chang noted increased demand from Chinese customers who purchased the brand’s products while traveling in the U.S.

Willis’ Kumi Koobuu collection with Kumi Kookoon is available online and is priced from $193 for silk pillowcases to $1,378 for silk-filled throws.
