Taylor Swift Brings Florence Welch and Jack Antonoff, Debuts ‘So Long London’

Taylor Swift brought a delightful surprise to her fans during the final night of the European leg of her Eras tour. She invited Florence Welch to perform a live duet of "Florida!!!" from her latest album, Tortured Poets Department. The surprising collaboration occurred at Wembley Stadium, where more than 90,000 fans roared in excitement.

Welch joined Swift on stage to deliver a powerful rendition of the song’s chorus: "Say it’s unforgivable/What a crash, what a rush/Fuck me up, Florida!" This marked the first time Swift had performed this track live since the album’s release in April.

Following the electrifying duet, Jack Antonoff and Swift performed a harmonious acoustic version of "Getaway Car" from the Reputation album. Swift then transitioned to the piano, debuting "So Long, London" from Tortured Poets Department. The emotional performance illuminated the stadium with white lights as she sang, "Just how low did you think I’d go/ Before I’d self-implode/Before I’d have to go be free."

According to a Rolling Stone review by Rob Sheffield, Tortured Poets features a blend of the intimate sound from Folklore and Evermore, enriched with synth-pop gloss reminiscent of Midnights. Sheffield noted, "The songs go for that detailed Folklore style of storycraft, yet instead of fictional characters, she’s pouring her heart into her own deeply personal exorcisms."

Earlier in the week, Swift delighted fans by performing "Change" from her second studio album Fearless, taking them on a nostalgic journey. She also performed "I Did Something Bad" for the first time on this tour on August 17 and sang "London Boy" from her 2019 album Lover on August 16.

After wrapping up the European leg of her tour, Swift plans to take a well-deserved two-month break. She will return to the U.S. in October to continue her tour with shows scheduled in Miami, New Orleans, Indianapolis, Toronto, and Vancouver.

While in London, Swift met with two survivors of the recent stabbing attack in Southport, England. One of the survivors attended a Swift-themed yoga and dance workshop with a bandage on her arm displaying the lyric, "You drew stars around my scars," from Swift’s song "Cardigan."
