Taylor Swift Invites Girls from Deadly Attack to London Concert

Taylor Swift graciously invited two young girls and their families, survivors of a tragic attack in England, to her concerts in London over the weekend. The month prior, three girls had tragically lost their lives after attending a Taylor Swift-themed dance class in Southport, England, though the event wasn’t officially affiliated with the singer.

In a heartfelt and now-viral TikTok post, a woman who is the mother of the two girls shared her deep gratitude towards Taylor and Andrea Swift, the singer’s mother, for inviting them backstage.

“You drew stars around my scars,” wrote Sami Foster, the mother, referencing Taylor’s song “Cardigan” in a series of touching photos featuring her daughters with Taylor.

The attack, which resulted in the deaths of three young girls and left ten others injured, was carried out by a 17-year-old boy who has since been charged with ten counts of attempted murder and possession of a bladed article according to a People magazine news release.

Taylor Swift responded to the horrific incident the following day through her Instagram Story. “The horror of yesterday’s attack in Southport is washing over me continuously and I’m just completely in shock,” she expressed. “The loss of life and innocence and the horrendous trauma inflicted on everyone who was there, the families, and first responders.”

She continued, “These were just little kids at a dance class. I am at a complete loss for how to ever convey my sympathies to these families.”

It remains unclear how many other families Taylor has personally reached out to following this tragedy, and the motive behind the attack has not been disclosed.

In a separate and unrelated incident, Taylor Swift’s concerts scheduled in Vienna for Thursday, August 8, through Saturday, August 10, were canceled due to a terrorist plot. Security expert Morgan Stevens provided insights into why such events might be targeted.

“Large concerts like Taylor Swift’s draw tens of thousands of assailable fans, making them attractive targets for potential attackers aiming to maximize impact, attention and casualties,” Stevens told Us Weekly. “It’s widely reported that the Vienna concerts were expected to draw 70,000 fans each night, with similar concerts attracting an additional 10,000 to 20,000 outside the arena.”

All three teenagers associated with this plot have been arrested, ensuring the safety of the intended concert-goers. Taylor Swift will be concluding the European leg of her tour on Tuesday, August 20.
