Taylor Swift’s Friend Responds After Liking Donald Trump’s MAGA Post

Brittany Mahomes, wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, recently defended herself on social media following criticism for liking one of former President Donald Trump’s campaign posts on Instagram.

In a firm response on Instagram, Brittany wrote, “I mean honestly, to be a hater as an adult, you have to have some deep rooted issues you refuse to heal from childhood. There’s no reason your brain is fully developed and you hate to see others doing well.”

Although Brittany has been frequently seen with Taylor Swift ever since Swift began dating NFL star Travis Kelce, she gave no further explanation regarding the liked post. Nonetheless, the topic of her supposed political inclinations has sparked continued debate online.

One critic on X, formerly known as Twitter, expressed disbelief saying, “I don’t get how people with kids would still vote for a known child rapist/felon. Guess people like Brittany Mahomes prefer the tax breaks over child safety.”

Another sentiment among online commentators was surprise, or the lack thereof, with some suggesting that Brittany had “outed herself as a Trump supporter.” One user noted, “If you’re shocked that Brittany Mahomes is a Trump supporter I need you to put brain cells together like that is so f—-ng obvious. If someone’s in the rich part of the NFL crowd, you can usually gauge their politics from that.”

Not all comments were negative; Brittany also received support for her political expression. One admirer commented under a photo of Brittany with her children, “Love that you aren’t scared to speak your mind. No one should be attacked for their views! Personally, I love you even more now!”

The controversial post that Brittany “liked” was shared on August 13 through Trump’s Instagram account, detailing his MAGA “2024 GOP Platform.” Brittany has since unliked the post and, as of August 24, is not following the Republican presidential nominee on Instagram.

Interestingly, this isn’t Brittany’s first brush with political controversy. In a 2017 tweet, she addressed then-President Trump after he criticized NFL star Colin Kaepernick for kneeling during the National Anthem. Brittany tweeted, “Trump, you have now offended waaaay too many people.”
