‘Ted Lasso’ Anticipates Greenlight for Season 4

“Ted Lasso” is on the brink of being greenlit for Season 4. Warner Bros. Television has renewed options for original cast members Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Jeremy Swift. Jason Sudeikis is expected to participate in the revival in some capacity as an executive producer. Warner Bros. TV has declined to comment on this development.

Since the show’s conclusion, discussions about a “Ted Lasso” revival have been ongoing. Earlier this year, Warner Bros. TV CEO Channing Dungey hinted at the potential for the series to continue following its Season 3 finale. The final episode left the narrative door slightly ajar for future possibilities. Dungey commented that there is still significant enthusiasm for “Ted Lasso” among both fans and Apple, indicating that a continuation of the series could be on the horizon.

“I mean, you watched the finale, there’s a little bit of a door that could be kicked back open if need be,” Dungey said. “I wouldn’t put the period on the end of that sentence just yet. There is still a lot of love for ‘Ted Lasso.’ And I think that there still is a lot of enthusiasm on the part of Apple for ‘Ted Lasso.’ Should the opportunity arise, we’d be excited to jump back in to making more…. There are always conversations that are ongoing, just nothing that’s official.”

“Ted Lasso” centers on Sudeikis’s character, who is a small-time college football coach from Kansas hired to coach a professional soccer team in England, despite lacking any soccer coaching experience. Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, Jeremy Swift, Brendan Hunt, Juno Temple, and Phil Dunster are also part of the main cast.

The show was developed by Sudeikis along with Lawrence, Hunt, and Joe Kelly, basing it on pre-existing characters and format from NBC Sports. The blend of comedy and heartfelt moments in “Ted Lasso” has garnered a significant following, which likely fuels the ongoing revival talks.

The news of “Ted Lasso” moving towards another season was first reported by Deadline.

More updates are anticipated as the situation develops.
