‘Teen Mom’ Star Jenelle Evans Gets Hostile Over Jace’s Birthday

Teen Mom star Jenelle Evans has stirred controversy over her eldest son Jace’s birthday celebration. Jace recently turned fifteen, making it a significant milestone for him as he celebrated with his mother and siblings. Yet, Jenelle’s reaction appears to have attracted attention for all the wrong reasons. 

Jenelle has been experiencing a life transformation since announcing her move to Las Vegas. She initially lived on “The Land” in North Carolina. However, after her split from David Eason, she felt the need for a change. This led her to explore new places when she joined Teen Mom: The Next Chapter. She initially considered Florida, where her co-star Briana DeJesus lives, before settling on Las Vegas, where her manager, August Keen, resides. August, who is also her potential love interest, has plans to help her establish a weed business and get fully settled in Vegas. 

Jenelle announced her move to Vegas via the show and has since been seen partying in the city, despite being wheelchair-bound because of a fall. It’s reported that Jace is not keen on the move, as he is content in North Carolina. This stability is essential for Jace, especially after he ran away from home three times in two months in 2023. He had been living with his grandmother before recently returning to live with Jenelle. Despite this, Jenelle’s focus seems to be elsewhere, causing concern over her parenting priorities. 

On Jace’s fifteenth birthday, Jenelle apparently did not celebrate with him at midnight, which sparked criticism from online trolls. According to a Reddit thread, Jenelle quickly lashed out at those monitoring her social media activities. She stated that she faced backlash for not addressing his birthday publicly, and she aimed to discard any negative comments. She insisted it was Jace’s day, yet, ironically, she chose to reply to the criticisms instead of enjoying the day with him. This raised questions about why she felt the need to respond to social media on what was supposed to be her son’s special day. 

Followers of Jenelle were quick to share their opinions after seeing her statement. Many criticized her for prioritizing social media over her family responsibilities. Some pointed out that they had seen her out partying with a wheelchair and wondered where her kids were:

• “Hey, Jenelle! Since I know you stalk this sub, I have a message for you. Go take care of your children instead of lurking on Reddit and chasing d*ck!!!”
• “She’s always more worried about what the ‘haters’ are saying about whatever f’d up thing she did than she is about the actual f’d up action that she did.”
• “So rather than give Jace her full attention on his birthday, she’s doom scrolling Reddit and obsessing over our comments. Way to make it a day about your son. Maybe put the phone down.”

Jenelle’s reaction to the criticism suggests she is very concerned with public perception, sometimes more so than focusing on her children. The hope among fans and followers is that she will learn to become a more attentive mother.
