“The Boss” Engages in Extended Gaming Session

When you’re “The Boss,” you call the shots.

For Philadelphians heading to Bruce Springsteen’s Wednesday concert at Citizens Bank Park, anticipate an extended show packed with numerous hit songs.

  • Bruce Springsteen, affectionately known as “The Boss,” is renowned for his marathon concerts that last three to four hours, featuring over 30 songs.

Springsteen and the E Street Band will be performing a second show on Friday at 7:30pm.

  • These concerts are rescheduled dates from last year when Springsteen had to cancel his Philly shows due to illness.

In Philadelphia, Springsteen played his second-longest show in September 2016, clocking in at 4 hours and 4 minutes, according to concert statistic tracker MyBossTime.

  • This performance was just a minute shy of his record-long concert in Helsinki, Finland, years earlier.

Grammy-winning musician Paul McCartney told People that few artists performed such extended shows before Springsteen popularized it.

  • “I’ve told him … ‘It’s your fault,'” McCartney said. “We used to do a half-hour. That was The Beatles’ thing – half an hour, and we got paid for it.”

Tickets are still available for both shows.
