It has been more than two years since Tiger Woods narrowly avoided losing his leg in a car accident, and recent photos provide a stunning look at the severity of his injuries.
Woods made an appearance at the U.S. Junior Amateur this week at Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Township, Mich., to support his 15-year-old son Charlie. For the event, Woods wore shorts, revealing significant scarring on his right leg.
One photo taken by a fellow spectator captured a massive scar extending nearly the full length of Woods’ leg. Additional images showed another large scar on the inside of his right leg.
The horrific scars highlight the extent of the trauma Woods faced. Woods sustained severe leg fractures in a car crash in February 2021 and underwent several surgeries, one of which involved the insertion of a rod. At one point, amputation was considered as an option.
Considering the combination of leg injuries and numerous back surgeries, it is no surprise that Woods appears to struggle with mobility every time he hits the course now.
