Dawn later explained that while he liked the idea of marrying HyunA someday, the proposal was primarily out of his deep affection for her at that moment.

However, within months of their engagement, HyunA announced their breakup. Dawn supported her decision by liking her Instagram post. Although the reasons for their breakup weren’t initially disclosed, Dawn later hinted that it stemmed from HyunA needing some time alone. He acknowledged the breakup as a challenging period that helped him find clarity in his life’s direction.

Following the breakup, HyunA revealed her engagement to K-pop singer Yong Junhyung. Her agency confirmed the news, stating that the couple found comfort in each other during tough times and planned to marry in October.
