K-pop artists HyunA and Dawn were in a public relationship for years, captivating many as they broke the taboo of dating within the Korean entertainment industry. They chose to be open about their feelings, making their relationship an inspiring example for fans.

In the world of K-pop, dating isn’t always easy. Many fans encourage artists to embrace their personal lives without apologies, but sometimes, it still requires a public apology, even in 2024. This highlights the pressure artists face in handling public opinions. Amid these challenges, HyunA and Dawn’s relationship stood out as an instance of two stars who chose to be candid with their fans.

Recently, Dawn deleted old pictures with his former girlfriend, HyunA, igniting discussions among fans about their notable relationship. They started as labelmates at Cube Entertainment, where HyunA had already gained fame with JYP’s Wonder Girls and later with Cube Entertainment’s 4Minute.

HyunA became a sensation with her solo debut EP, Bubble Pop!, in 2011, which led to further collaborations and various idol activities. In 2017, she formed the unit Triple H with Dawn and Hui.

Rumors about their relationship began circulating during their time in Triple H. Initially, their agency denied the rumors, but in 2018, HyunA and Dawn publicly acknowledged their relationship. They expressed the desire to be honest with their fans and confidently perform on stage without hiding.

The couple revealed that HyunA was the one who confessed first. During a radio program, Dawn shared his surprise, stating that as a trainee, he never expected a superstar like HyunA to be interested in him.

After making their relationship public, HyunA and Dawn left Cube Entertainment and joined P Nation in 2019. They continued to release music separately and together, including their collaborative EP 1+1=1 in 2021. The title track “Ping Pong” became a hit, with the music video amassing over 135 million views.

In a surprising move, Dawn proposed to HyunA with an Instagram post featuring matching rings and the caption “Marry Me?” This engagement news stirred excitement among fans. Dawn later explained that while he liked the idea of marrying HyunA someday, the proposal was primarily out of his deep affection for her at that moment.

However, within months of their engagement, HyunA announced their breakup. Dawn supported her decision by liking her Instagram post. Although the reasons for their breakup weren’t initially disclosed, Dawn later hinted that it stemmed from HyunA needing some time alone. He acknowledged the breakup as a challenging period that helped him find clarity in his life’s direction.

Following the breakup, HyunA revealed her engagement to K-pop singer Yong Junhyung. Her agency confirmed the news, stating that the couple found comfort in each other during tough times and planned to marry in October.

Dawn has yet to comment on HyunA’s new relationship, marking the end of a significant chapter in their shared history.
