TLC Cancels NY Concert as T-Boz is Hospitalized

T-Boz is facing a serious health issue that landed her in the hospital, leading to the cancellation of TLC’s weekend shows. The singer, whose real name is Tionne Watkins, initially thought she had food poisoning, but it turned out to be an abdominal blockage.

TLC couldn’t perform Saturday night at Foxwoods in Connecticut, nor could they make their Friday night appearance at the NY State Fair in Syracuse. The announcement to cancel the Friday show came just 30 minutes before the scheduled start time, attributing the reason to food poisoning. However, a new diagnosis came within the next 24 hours.

A statement from the group clarified, “The doctor verified that this was not food poisoning, but an abdominal blockage. Tionne deeply regrets having to cancel these shows and extends her sincere apologies to all her fans and the event promoters.”

T-Boz remained hospitalized on Saturday night, with doctors monitoring her condition closely. A CT scan was performed to assess the severity of the blockage, with hopes she would be released sometime on Sunday.

Before this health scare, TLC’s last concert took place Thursday night in Toledo. It’s unclear if anything specific from Ohio cuisine caused her illness, but TLC plans to reschedule the canceled shows. Unfortunately, the current tour has faced several challenges, including the cancellation of a couple of Canadian shows in May due to a flu outbreak among tour members.
