‘Tornado outbreak’ forecasted to occur in southern and central Plains this Saturday

An outbreak of severe thunderstorms and tornadoes is affecting the nation’s heartland on Saturday with significant tornadoes, hail, and straight-line winds expected from northern Texas to Missouri. The storms are part of a four-day severe weather pattern targeting the Plains. Numerous tornado warnings have been issued, including for large and extremely dangerous twisters near various locations. The National Weather Service is warning of strong tornadoes, large hail, and damaging winds in multiple states. Flooding is also a concern in certain areas. Friday saw a violent swarm of twisters with numerous tornado warnings and significant damage reported.
