Travis Scott Celebrates ‘Days Before Rodeo’ Anniversary with Vault Release

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of his mixtape Days Before Rodeo, Houston-born rapper Travis Scott has released a special edition titled Days Before Rodeo – Live from Atlanta: Chopped & Screwed – Vault 1 & 2.

This limited-edition drop, available exclusively on Scott’s official shop, features previously unheard snippets from the Days Before Rodeo era, alongside a full live set from his recent anniversary performance in Atlanta. In addition to the music, fans can purchase vinyl bundles, exclusive merchandise, and other limited items.

Originally released in 2014, Days Before Rodeo marked Scott’s second mixtape, setting the groundwork for his debut album Rodeo in 2015. The mixtape includes standout tracks like “Mamacita,” featuring Rich Homie Quan and Young Thug, and “Don’t Play,” featuring Big Sean and The 1975. The project’s moody, atmospheric vibe, supported by production from Metro Boomin, Lex Luger, and Travis Scott himself, has since become crucial to the trap genre.

This new release follows the dropping of the music video for “Drugs You Should Try It” more than a decade after its original 2014 launch. On August 18, Scott unveiled the visually engaging “Drugs You Should Try It” video, just ahead of DBR hitting streaming services on August 23. The video starts with a tribute to Virgil Abloh, who designed a neon-lit smoking cowboy sign that appears in the clip. In the visual, Scott dives into a pool of despair, letting his mind explore the depths of his consciousness.

Over the years, Scott has experienced considerable chart success. His sophomore album, Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight, topped the Billboard 200, while Astroworld spent three weeks at No. 1. His hit single “Sicko Mode” became a significant feature on the Billboard Hot 100, reaching No. 1. Moreover, his collaborations with other artists, such as Drake and Young Thug, have yielded multiple top 10 hits, solidifying his position in the music industry.

Fans of Travis Scott and those new to his work will find this special edition release to be a worthy celebration of his career so far. The new edition of Days Before Rodeo not only pays homage to his past successes but also offers a refreshing take on some of his earlier works. With vinyl bundles and exclusive merchandise available, it provides a nostalgic yet contemporary experience for listeners and collectors alike.
