Trial of Donald Trump’s Hush Money

Keith Davidson testified about his offer to former National Enquirer editor Dylan Howard for Karen McDougal’s story. Davidson initially proposed $1 million upfront and $75,000 per year for two years as a fitness columnist. Howard responded by indicating the offer was unlikely to be in the millions. Davidson then reduced the offer to $800,000 upfront and $100,000 per year. Howard’s response suggested they were far apart on the offer. Davidson joked about receiving an ambassadorship in exchange for the deal, referencing Donald Trump’s presidency. He clarified that it was not a serious proposal.
