Trump energizes swing states on day off from court duties

Former President Trump returned to the campaign trail in Wisconsin after a day off from his trial in Manhattan. He seemed energized, speaking for about an hour and a half to enthusiastic supporters, hitting on major campaign themes. Despite facing charges of falsifying business records, he claimed he was indicted “for nothing” and criticised the judge and legal system. Many supporters at the rally believed his trial would boost his popularity. Trump also addressed pro-Palestinian student protests, abortion rights, and then headed to speak in Michigan after the rally in Wisconsin. He is due back in court in Manhattan on Thursday.
