Trump lawyers accept revised terms for $175M bond in civil fraud lawsuit

Attorneys for former president Donald Trump agreed to new conditions on his $175 million bond deal, resolving concerns raised by New York Attorney General Letitia James. The bond was put in place to prevent state officials from seizing Trump’s properties after a civil fraud judgment. Prosecutors objected to Trump controlling the cash backing the bond, but Trump’s attorneys assured the court it would be backed by secure investments. Trump’s attorneys agreed to five concessions, including making Knight Specialty Insurance Co. the sole holder of the cash. The two sides have until Thursday to finalize the arrangement, with Knight stepping in to offer the bond after other firms declined.
