UCLA recognizes presence of ‘violence’ on campus amid escalating protests over Israel-Hamas conflict.

UCLA administration addressed recent clashes between pro-Palestinian and pro-Israeli protesters on campus following tensions from the ongoing Israel-Hamas War. Mary Osako, vice chancellor of UCLA Strategic Communications, confirmed altercations occurred due to protesters breaching a barrier established by the university. Law enforcement prepared for a pro-Israeli counter-protest near the encampment. There were isolated skirmishes between protesters, with some seen forming walls and chanting at each other. Despite calls for divestment, the University of California has rejected proposals to cut financial ties with companies linked to the conflict. The situation remains tense on campus amid the ongoing protests.
