Ukraine Removes US-supplied Abrams Tanks from Front Lines due to Russian Drone Risks

Ukraine has decided to sideline U.S.-provided Abrams M1A1 battle tanks in their fight against Russia due to the challenges posed by Russian drone warfare, which makes it difficult for the tanks to operate without detection or being targeted. The tanks have been moved from the front lines, and the U.S. will work with Ukraine to reset tactics. The U.S. is expected to provide about $6 billion in long-term military aid to Ukraine, including counter-drone capabilities, additional air defenses, ammunition, and alternative vehicles. Despite the tank training provided by the U.S., Ukraine has not effectively utilized the tanks in combined arms warfare operations.
