Venom War Hints at Spider-Man vs. Eddie Brock Showdown (Exclusive)

Spider-Man and Venom are on the verge of another intense conflict. Venom, once feared as Spider-Man’s most terrifying villain due to his massive muscles, oversized mouth, and elongated tongue, has seen a significant transformation over the years. He has evolved into a hero, even fighting alongside Spider-Man. This evolution has led to Venom headlining his own events in the Marvel Universe, with the latest being Venom War. In the first installment of this crossover event, Spider-Man and the symbiote are reunited, much to Eddie Brock’s displeasure.

ComicBook offers an exclusive preview of Venom War #2, created by Al Ewing, Iban Coello, Frank D’Armata, and VC’s Ariana Maher. The beginning of the story is set at Alchemax headquarters, where Meridius, Eddie Brock’s evil future counterpart, introduces an anti-symbiote chemical known as the K-Chemical or zombiote. As chaos erupts in the Alchemax facility due to out-of-control symbiotes, Meridius seizes the opportunity to test the zombiote.

The zombiote attaches itself to a man named Carlton, prompting a violent rampage. Fortunately, Liz Allan is present and transforms into Misery, combining half anti-Venom and half Carnage powers, to subdue it. Meanwhile, the narrative shifts to a wrestling ring where Spider-Man and Venom confront each other.

The Venom symbiote has been separated from both Eddie Brock and his son, Dylan, after revealing ominous futures for which each is responsible. Venom War pits father and son against each other as they compete to be the true host of Venom. However, complicating their plans, the symbiote reaches out to Peter Parker, leading Spider-Man to don the black suit once more.

Spider-Man insists on Eddie addressing him by his costume name, to which Eddie retorts that Spider-Man is wearing his symbiote. “Why are you wearing my symbiote, Spider-Man?” Eddie asks, marking a tense moment as the preview of Venom War #2 comes to a close.
