Video Captures Altercation Between Las Vegas High School Substitute Teacher and Student

A video circulating on social media shows a fight between a student and a substitute teacher at Valley High School in Las Vegas. The altercation reportedly began after the student used a racial slur. The teacher involved, Re’Kwon Smith, 27, has been charged with battery, assault, threats, and interfering with a student. Smith is currently in custody with a bail set at $9000. The Clark County School District Police stated violence is unacceptable and promised to take appropriate action. Valley High School officials also acknowledged the incident and stated that both individuals involved were arrested by police.
