Eminem’s highly anticipated 12th studio album, The Death of Slim Shady, has finally been released, allowing fans ample time over the weekend to pick their favorite tracks. Billboard is now keen to hear which songs have struck a chord with listeners.

Four years after his chart-topping Music to Be Murdered By in 2020, the Detroit-based rapper dropped his latest LP on Friday (July 12), receiving immediate positive feedback. Enthusiasts of classic Slim Shady have gravitated towards tracks like the lead single “Houdini,” which reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in June, and the second single “Tobey,” featuring Big Sean and BabyTron.

Other fans have shown a preference for the more emotional, family-oriented ballads such as “Temporary” and “Somebody Save Me.” “Temporary” serves as a heartfelt pre-death love letter from Eminem to his daughter Hailie Jade, while “Somebody Save Me” is an apology to all three of his children, heavily sampling Jelly Roll’s hit “Save Me.”

Regardless of individual preferences, the 19-track album has left many listeners in awe. “I’m speechless,” one fan tweeted a few hours post-release. “25 years later & it’s a full circle moment. Eminem delivers one of his best albums & shows us what Slim Shady does one last time.”

A different fan on X added, “He just dropped the best album within the last decade… Your favorite rapper can’t f–king compete.”
