West Virginia police say remains of missing girl and mother found after deathbed confession

Remains believed to be that of a woman and her daughter missing for nearly 24 years were found at a southern West Virginia home on the same day the suspect died in prison. The suspect, Larry Webb, confessed to the murders of Susan and Natasha “Alex” Carter on his deathbed due to financial troubles. Webb was in custody for the girl’s death and suffered a medical episode before his death. Susan Carter was in a custody battle with Natasha’s father at the time of their disappearance. The case was reinvigorated in 2021 with a reward for information. Webb was indicted for murder in October and arrested in April.
