What Allegedly Strained Meghan Markle and Victoria Beckham’s Relationship

Meghan Markle might have enjoyed Victoria Beckham’s makeup and fashion tips, but things took a turn when those personal details ended up in the press. Celebrity biographer Tim Bower revealed that Markle was furious when The Sun reported that Victoria had been giving her beauty advice. She blamed the fashion icon for leaking the information.

Bower explained to news.com.au that the fallout began when Victoria’s makeup advice to Meghan was leaked. This prompted Markle to ask her husband Prince Harry to confront the Beckhams about it. “David got a call from Harry accusing either he or Victoria of leaking the story to promote Victoria, but they later found out it was one of Victoria’s employees, which caused anger,” Bower said.

In his book, “The House of Beckham,” Bower suggested that Markle might have been jealous of the Beckhams’ superior social and financial standing. Despite being a member of the Royal Family, Meghan was upset that the Beckhams seemed to be more relevant in the public eye. “In Meghan’s celebrity world, ranking depended on wealth and fame. As a seasoned operator, Meghan deluded herself that her status in the Royal family placed her above Victoria in the social pecking order,” Bower wrote, as reported by The Independent. “She was irritated to discover that the Beckhams had considerably more wealth than herself.”
