What’s Coming, Going, and New This Week (Aug. 25)

With over 500 scripted shows currently airing across broadcast, cable, and streaming platforms, it’s easy to lose track of returning favorites or new debuts. This week, several highly anticipated series are making a comeback, some new shows are premiering, and a few seasons are wrapping up.

The upcoming schedule is packed with excitement. This week, we have six returning series, including “Only Murders in the Building” and “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,” eight series debuts, such as “KAOS” and “Terminator Zero,” and 11 finales, including “Orphan Black: Echoes” and “The Serpent Queen.”

SUNDAY, AUG. 25

At 8:00 PM, HBO Latino premieres “City of God: The Fight Rages On.” Later, at 10:07 PM, AMC and BBC America will air the season 1 finale of “Orphan Black: Echoes.”

TUESDAY, AUG. 27

Early Tuesday at 3:00 AM, Netflix will release Adam Sandler’s comedy special “Love You.” Hulu will premiere season 4 of “Only Murders in the Building” at the same time. At 8:00 PM, ABC will air “The Bachelorette: The Men Tell All” special.

WEDNESDAY, AUG. 28

Wednesday morning, Hulu will debut the docuseries “After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun” at 3:00 AM, streaming all four episodes. Netflix will release “Worst Ex Ever,” another docuseries, also at 3:00 AM. At 8:00 PM, ABC’s “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” will have its season 3 finale. Following that, ABC will air a double episode season 3 finale of “Claim to Fame” at 9:00 PM, which competes with the season 9 finale of “Good Bones” on HGTV and the “Toby Keith: American Icon” special on NBC.

THURSDAY, AUG. 29

Thursday morning is packed with premieres. At 3:00 AM, Max will release “Cookie Monster’s Bake Sale: Back to School.” Peacock will debut the documentary “Gary” and the docuseries “Here Come the Irish” with its first two episodes. Netflix will release the eight-episode series “KAOS” and “Terminator Zero.” Prime Video will start season 2 of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” with the first three episodes. ESPN’s “Thursday Night College Football” returns for its 27th season at 8:00 PM. At 9:00 PM, we have several finales: “60 Days In” on A&E, “Christina on the Coast” on HGTV, “Cobra” on PBS, “Masters of Illusion” on The CW, and “The West Coast Hustle” on MTV.

FRIDAY, AUG. 30

Netflix will premiere the movie “The Deliverance” at 3:00 AM, alongside Peacock’s streaming debut of “The Fall Guy.” Apple TV+ will release the six-episode docuseries “K-Pop Idols.” Starz will air the season 2 finale of “The Serpent Queen” at 8:00 PM, followed by the season 47 premiere of “Inside the NFL” on The CW at 9:00 PM.

SATURDAY, AUG. 31

On Saturday, starting at 3:00 PM, The CW will air the premiere of the “PAC-12 College Football Series.” Later in the evening, at 7:30 PM, NBC will show the season 2 premiere of “Big Ten Saturday Night” and ABC will air the season 19 premiere of “Saturday Night College Football.” Peacock will stream “WWE Bash in Berlin” at 8:00 PM.
