What’s up with the cicadas in Michigan 2021?

There are two broods of cicadas emerging this year, but Michigan won’t have to deal with them. Brood XIII & Brood XIX will emerge in 2024 in Illinois & Missouri. A few Brood XIII will emerge in southwest Michigan close to Indiana border. Brood X expected in Michigan in 2038.
