Who Was Sent Home After Hometown Dates?

Buckle up, Bachelor Nation. Hometown Week has finally arrived! During The Bachelorette Season 21, Episode 7, Jenn Tran visited Texas, California, Washington, and Connecticut to meet the families, friends, and pets of her final four contestants: Devin Strader, Jeremy Simon, Jonathon Johnson, and Marcus Shoberg.

Compared to Hometown Weeks past, Jenn’s visits were smooth and largely drama-free—aside from a few skeptical family members and one contestant who clearly isn’t ready for an engagement.

There will be many Bachelorette Hometown recaps, but this one is written with expert-level knowledge of Jeremy’s hometown—Fairfield, Connecticut. So who got a rose? Who went home after Hometown Dates? And who’s headed to Fantasy Suites? Let’s dive in.

Devin Strader’s Hometown Date in Houston, Texas, was the first stop. Devin met up with Jenn in a beautiful park where his Run Club friends joined them in custom “Jenn & Devin Love Run” shirts. Jenn poked fun at Devin, also known as “Dev Dog,” and they both seemed effortlessly in their element, enjoying a mile run together. Later, Devin introduced Jenn to his family, and although there were some nervous moments about discussing past relationships, Devin finally confessed his love to Jenn.

Next was Jeremy Simon’s Hometown Date in Fairfield, Connecticut. Despite Fairfield’s charm, Jeremy took Jenn to a mysterious section of woods, prompting Jenn to ask, “Did you take me here to kill me?” Thankfully, the date soon progressed to Stew Leonard’s in nearby Norwalk, a quirky grocery store. They had a fun day filled with dancing avocados, animatronic cows, and even running into Jeremy’s Aunt Debbie. Jeremy’s family, however, was skeptical about his readiness for an engagement, casting a cloud over Jenn’s feelings.

In San Diego, California, Jonathon Johnson welcomed Jenn to his world, playing lacrosse in a field and meeting his supportive family. Jonathon’s brother and sister-in-law’s story of a swift yet successful romance helped to alleviate the tension about the show’s accelerated timeline. Jonathon expressed his feelings for Jenn, stating he’s falling for her.

Last was Marcus Shoberg’s Hometown Date in Tacoma, Washington. Jenn met Marcus’ younger sister, mentors, and a group of friends and fellow Rangers. Despite a fun gathering, Marcus expressed doubts about his readiness for an engagement. He told Jenn he wasn’t fully in love yet, but later he told her he was falling for her. This mixed message left Jenn concerned about their future.

The episode concluded with one of the season’s last rose ceremonies back in Los Angeles. The final four met for a pre-ceremony chat, during which Marcus revealed his doubts to the cameras but not to Jenn. Despite his reservations, he accepted a rose along with Devin and Jonathon, leaving Jeremy heartbroken.

Next week promises to be exciting with back-to-back Fantasy Suite and Men Tell All episodes.
