Why Aren’t Jenny & Sumit in ’90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way’?

Jenny and Sumit last appeared on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Season 7. However, many TLC fans hoped to see them back in 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. Why weren’t they featured in Season 6? Let’s explore the reasons.

Initially, Sumit was perceived as the villain in the TLC franchise because he catfished Jenny, who is 30 years older than him. The significant age gap didn’t help his case. However, when viewers discovered he was already in a pre-arranged marriage, his reputation hit an all-time low. Despite this, they continued to be a part of the show, much to the horror of many fans.

Jenny and Sumit stayed with the franchise for a while, showing that she was willing to endure difficult situations for their relationship. Sumit’s mother, Sadhna, subjected Jenny to a tough time. Despite the challenges, they secretly tied the knot in Season 3 of The Other Way. By the time they last appeared on 90 Day Fiancé, they had reconciled with Sumit’s parents.

While other popular TLC stars like David Toborowsky and Annie Suwan, as well as Loren and Alexi Borovnik, have had their own spinoffs, it seems unlikely that Jenny and Sumit will get the same opportunity. According to Distractify, their story might have run its course. Despite hopes for a return to television, it might not happen.

Jenny and Sumit have brought plenty of drama to the 90 Day Fiancé franchise. The outlet argues that since they no longer clash with Sumit’s parents and Jenny seems to have fully integrated into Indian society and culture, their story lacks the conflict that keeps viewers engaged.

Ratings tend to improve with more drama. Even though viewers claim to dislike Angela Deem, they consistently tune in for her over-the-top moments. The same applies to other controversial figures such as Gino Palazzolo and Jasmine Pineda. Without fresh drama, the franchise tends to lose interest in the characters.

In contrast, fans still enjoy David Toborowsky and Annie Suwan, although they don’t appear on television much these days apart from Pillow Talk. Currently expecting a baby, fans might see more of them on their screens. However, this seems unlikely for Jenny and Sumit.

What are your thoughts on Jenny and Sumit not being part of The Other Way? Do you think TLC is done with them? Should they deserve an After The 90 Days spinoff? Feel free to share your opinions in the comments section.
