Will Kim Plath’s DUI Be Featured in Next Season of ‘Welcome To Plathville’?

The Plath family is facing many transitions in the upcoming season of Welcome To Plathville. The new trailer for Season 6 has given fans a sneak peek of what to expect. One big question remains: will Kim Plath’s DUI details be addressed in the new season?

The previous season concluded with Olivia and Ethan Plath parting ways. Kim Plath was seen getting closer to her boyfriend, Ken Palmer, after her split from Barry Plath. Yet, Kim’s DUI incident wasn’t mentioned. Some speculate that TLC is deliberately excluding it, while others believe it might be featured since the filming timeline is often delayed. Fans can anticipate updates on Kim, Barry, and their children, including Ethan, Hosanna, Micah, Moriah, Lydia, Isaac, Amber, Cassia, and Mercy.

With Welcome To Plathville premiering on Tuesday, July 16, viewers are curious if Kim Plath’s DUI will be depicted. The teaser shows that Kim believes Barry hasn’t “loosened up” as much as she has since her departure. Last season, Kim started visiting bars with her adult children and having an occasional drink, reflecting her transition post-divorce after 24 years of marriage.

In the new trailer, Kim is seen teaching Moriah some bold dance moves to attract a man. She continues to enjoy alcohol with Moriah, and Lydia joins them as well. As Kim becomes more liberal with her social life, it hints toward the period when her DUI took place.

On October 20, 2022, Kim was arrested for DUI and property damage in Florida. Court documents reveal her arrest, with a mugshot taken at 2:08 a.m. For driving under influence, property damage, and personal injury. A January report from The Sun indicated that her blood test results were inadmissible, but they showed her blood alcohol levels were .161 and .162, twice the legal limit.

When Season 5 ended, Kim was contemplating moving in with Ken Palmer in Florida. According to a Florida police report, Kim’s Chevy Suburban was found upside down in a water-filled ditch on June 10. Despite a warrant issued on September 8, 2022, her surrender came in October. The report stated that Kim appeared dazed with red, glassy eyes and dilated pupils, emitting a strong odor of alcohol. She initially did not respond to a request for a blood test but later consented.

Kim received probation and was required to complete 50 hours of community service. She also faced several penalties:

Driver’s license suspended for 6 months

Ignition interlock device for 6 months

Subject to random chemical testing at any time

No alcohol, unprescribed medications, or illegal drugs

Must complete substance abuse evaluation within 30 days

Complete DUI school

9 months of county probation

50 hours of community service

As the new season approaches, it seems likely that Kim Plath’s DUI timeline may align with the show’s timeline. Although many anticipated it during Season 5, it wasn’t covered. Fans are now curious if TLC will address it in Season 6 or continue to avoid the topic.

Besides this, Season 6 introduces numerous family changes. Olivia and Ethan Plath are exploring life post-divorce and diving into new relationships. Moriah Plath is dealing with heartbreak and seeking comfort from Kim. Micah Plath has moved to Florida with his new girlfriend, choosing to keep his relationship private. Barry Plath displays some flirtatious behavior towards Kim despite last season’s developments.

Tune in on July 16 to catch these updates on the Plath family at 10/9c on TLC. The show will also stream later on Max.
