‘Wizards Beyond Waverly Place’ Premieres in October, Directed by Raven and Danielle

“Wizards Beyond Waverly Place,” the sequel series to the Disney Channel original “Wizards of Waverly Place,” will premiere on the network in October.

Disney Channel will air the first two episodes of the series on Oct. 29 at 8:00 p.m. ET. The initial eight episodes will be available for streaming on Disney+ and Disney Channel On Demand the next day.

Following the network premiere, two new episodes, including a Halloween-themed one, will air back-to-back on Oct. 30. Starting from Nov. 8, new episodes will be released on Fridays at 8:00 p.m. ET, with two episodes each week.

Raven-Symoné (“Raven’s Home”) and Danielle Fishel (“Girl Meets World”) are confirmed to direct episodes in the first season.

“‘Wizards Beyond Waverly Place’ follows an adult Justin Russo (David Henrie), who has chosen to lead a normal, mortal life with his family, Giada, Roman, and Milo. When Justin’s sister Alex (Selena Gomez) brings Billie (Janice LeAnn Brown) to his home seeking help, Justin realizes he must dust off his magical skills to mentor the wizard-in-training while also juggling his everyday responsibilities and safeguarding the future of the Wizard World,” states the series’ logline.

The series stars Henrie, LeAnn Brown, Alkaio Thiele (as Roman Russo), Max Matenko (as Milo Russo), Taylor Cora (as Winter), and Mimi Gianopulos (as Giada Russo). Gomez will guest star as Alex in the first episode.

Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas are writers and executive producers, joined by executive producers Gary Marsh, Jonas Agin, Gomez, and Henrie. Andy Fickman directed and executive-produced the pilot and will direct multiple episodes.

Gomez recently expressed her joy at returning to the set of the Wizarding series, telling Variety’s Marc Malkin, “It felt like I was home again. I’m so happy I got to bring back this childhood gift that I was given to new little ones out there.”
