Woman Turns Her Life Around at 40 in New Hallmark Movie

As a child, I was quick to share my honest thoughts and the first to try something new with no fear of the consequences (Note to self: don’t bite into chili peppers). As I grew older, I learned to be more cautious before jumping into a situation that might cause me pain—physical or emotional—and learned to turn on a filter when I speak. So I felt I had found a kindred spirit in Hallmark Channel’s latest movie, Junebug.

In the new movie, Juniper (Hallmark fan favorite Autumn Reeser) is about to hit her milestone 40th birthday when she begins seeing a younger version of herself and realizes her life hasn’t turned out the way she had planned.

When an 8-year-old version of herself starts appearing to her, Juniper (Autumn Reeser) begins to realize that her life is not what she had hoped it would be when she was a child. Young Junebug pushes Juniper to achieve her dreams, to start writing again, and to collaborate with the cute artist Alex (Aaron O’Connell) that she recently met. Despite work challenges, she connects with Alex on a personal level and pushes past insecurities about her writing to try and get her life back on track.

Autumn Reeser has starred in over a dozen movies for the Hallmark Channel, including The Wedding Veil trilogy, Always Amore, and A Glenbrooke Christmas. Previously, she starred with Hallmark alum Kristoffer Polaha in The CW series, Valentine, and with Daniel Lissing in the ABC drama, Last Resort. Other credits include The O.C., Entourage, and Hawaii Five-O.

Fun fact: Reeser serves as an executive producer on Junebug, alongside her frequent co-star, Antonio Cupo!

Aaron O’Connell has starred in several movies, including Love Accidentally on FreeVee with (Macaulay Culkin’s longtime GF) Brenda Song, Hallmark Channel’s With Love, Christmas opposite Emilie Ullerup, and 12 Gifts of Christmas with NCIS star Katrina Law. Other credits include The Haves and the Have Notes, Lethal Weapon, and NCIS.

Fun fact: The name of all of O’Connell’s siblings also start with an "A"—Amy, Abby, and Anna!

Junebug premieres on Saturday, Aug. 3 at 8 p.m. ET on Hallmark Channel.

Sunday, Aug. 4 at 6 p.m. ET
Thursday, Aug. 8 at 9 p.m. ET
Saturday, Aug. 17 at 10 p.m. ET.
