‘Yellowstone’ Season 5, Part 2 Premiere Date and Streaming Info

Another Sunday, another craving for Yellowstone.

That’s right, folks. Fans of the Dutton family have been waiting more than a year and a half for a new episode of Taylor Sheridan’s hit Western drama. We’re all growing more impatient by the day, but at least we finally have a Season 5, Part 2 premiere date on the books! If you’re reading this, you’re likely wondering if Yellowstone returns with new episodes this Sunday night on Paramount Network. Let’s get to the details!

Is Yellowstone on Paramount Network tonight, August 25? Sadly, it’s not Dutton reunion day. Paramount Network will air an exciting marathon of Bar Rescue instead of a new Yellowstone episode. But there’s good news: the show will be back soon!

The first day of Fall 2024 is September 1, and that’s right around the corner. Why are we telling you that? Because Yellowstone Season 5, Part 2 returns this fall. On June 20, Paramount+ announced that Yellowstone Season 5, Part 2 will return on Sunday, November 10th at 8:00 p.m. ET. While it’s still some time away, it’s a concrete date!

When Yellowstone returns in November 2024, make sure to watch episodes live or record them for later. Season 5, Part 2 episodes won’t be available for next-day streaming on Paramount+.

By now, you’ve likely heard the Kevin Costner Yellowstone news straight from the man himself, but if you’re behind or extremely offline, brace yourself. Kevin Costner will not return as John Dutton in Season 5, Part 2. What this means for John Dutton’s fate or the Dutton family, we don’t know. However, we do know why Costner left the show—or at least his reasons for leaving.

Decider detailed the ongoing feud between Costner and Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan in past articles. As for the official reason why Costner left Yellowstone, he offered insight in a June 20 Instagram video captioned “An update for you guys. I’ll see you at the movies.”

In the video, Costner explained, “After a long year and a half of working on Horizon: An American Saga, and thinking about Yellowstone, I just realized that I’m not going to be able to continue. Season 5B or into the future. It was something that really changed me. I loved it, and I know you loved it. I wanted to let you know that I won’t be returning. I love the relationship we’ve developed, and I’ll see you at the movies.”

Days after the social media post, Costner elaborated in an interview with Billy Bush of Extra, clarifying that he was waiting for information about his character’s fate, which never came. “I just hadn’t heard anything about how [John Dutton’s death] would be handled,” Costner said. “So it’s time to move on gracefully from something very important to me.”

Ready for more bad news? We’re just the messengers here. If you’re wondering if Yellowstone Season 6 is a possibility after Season 5, Part 2, don’t get your hopes up. The future of Yellowstone was seemingly decided back in May 2023 when Season 5 was confirmed as the final season. However, several Yellowstone spinoffs, currently titled 1944 and 2024, are still in the works, so you won’t be saying goodbye completely.

On August 8, MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios announced exciting news about the Yellowstone spinoff formerly known as 2024. Michelle Pfeiffer will executive produce and star in the series, now called The Madison.

Chris McCarthy, Paramount Global Co-CEO, said of Pfeiffer’s casting, “Michelle Pfeiffer is a remarkable talent who imbues every role with emotional depth, authenticity, and grace. She is the perfect anchor for the newest chapter of the Yellowstone universe, The Madison.”

The spin-off is described as “a heartfelt study of grief and human connection following a New York City family in the Madison River valley of central Montana.” While more details await, it’s expected to feature some Yellowstone crossover characters and begin airing after the original series concludes.

Separately, while it’s not a spinoff, Yellowstone‘s Kelly Reilly has been cast as Jackie Ellis, a teacher who previously worked as a detective, in the upcoming series Under Salt Marsh.

Curious where you can stream old episodes while you await new ones? All five seasons of Yellowstone are currently available on Peacock Premium. Individual episodes and complete seasons are also available for purchase on Amazon.
