Actors often go through several phases in their careers. They may start on TV, land a breakout role in a popular franchise, transition to movies, and eventually win awards. If they are fortunate, they might snag an Oscar or appear on shows like “Hot Ones.” Down the line, a cameo on a prestige drama may follow, wrapping up with a quiet retirement. However, only a handful of actors achieve the unique honor of becoming internet favorites, especially after the age of 45. This accolade has touched the likes of Kyle MacLachlan, Pedro Pascal, and Cillian Murphy. The latest to join this esteemed group is Walton Goggins.

Goggins has been beloved by fans even before his time on “Justified.” Thanks to his roles in “Fallout” and his acclaimed portrayal of Baby Billy Freeman in “The Righteous Gemstones,” he has now captured the hearts of internet users worldwide.

He attended a screening of “Fallout” where Vulture inquired about his newfound internet fame, which has sparked numerous TikTok compilations of his character, the Ghoul, set to club music. Goggins appeared to be embracing this online adoration quite well.

“I like being a Ghoul Daddy,” Goggins remarked, adding humorously, “I like being a Zaddy.” If you’re unfamiliar with the term “zaddy,” it may mean you’re not in the loop.

While Goggins basks in his Ghoul fame, he holds a special place for another character. During a light-hearted game of “would you rather,” Vulture’s Kathryn VanArendonk popped the question: “You’re in the Fallout universe, but you are not the Ghoul. You are either Boyd Crowder or Baby Billy. Which one?” Goggins’ response was as distinctive as his characters themselves.

He chose, “Baby Billy. Why not! I mean, he would last a day. Or maybe he wouldn’t, I don’t know. He’s a cockroach.” While the Ghoul is armed and dangerous, Baby Billy’s unparalleled work ethic and resilience would likely help him survive at least a week in a post-apocalyptic scenario, thanks in part to his heavy use of hairspray acting as a protective shell.
