Yung Gravy Shows Proof After Hawk Tuah Girl Claims He Asked Her Out

Yung Gravy with the receipts. Now, first things first: Do I kind of hate myself for knowing who both of these people are? Sure. But that’s working on the internet these days. Anybody can be a celebrity, and it’s my job to keep up with what’s going on. So here we are, talking about Yung Gravy and Hawk Tuah. What a time to be alive.

Now, if you happen to not know who either of these fine folks are, well, you probably wouldn’t be reading this in the first place. But Yung Gravy is a rapper who recently put out a horrendous country album called “Serving Country,” and the Hawk Tuah girl’s real name is Hailey Welch, and she recently went viral for a joke during an on-the-street interview in Nashville and now she’s pretty much everywhere trying to capitalize on her viral fame. There, now we’re all on the same page.

This recent story started when Welch told TMZ that the rapper (whose real name is Matthew Raymond Hauri) had slid into her DMs to ask her out. According to Welch: “He wants to take me on a date. I was like, ehh I don’t know about that.”

But according to Mr. Gravy, it didn’t exactly go down like that – and he’s got receipts. The rapper retweeted a post on Twitter about the interaction and shared the messages that he exchanged with Welch. It’s not clear who started the conversation, though the first message visible in the screenshot is from Welch (at 1:44 AM). Gravy then invites Ms. Hawk Tuah to his show.

Of course we don’t know whether this was the entire conversation, but Gravy told TMZ that he was just trying to support Welch: “I wanted to show her some love. I saw people hating on her and being mad negative. All she’s doing is talking about sex and doing it the right way, and that’s what I do and no one’s mad about that. So I thought she needed some love. I think I invited her to a show. I don’t believe I mentioned a date… It could be a date though, Hailey Welch.”

Umm, Gravy, I don’t think you’re really helping your case here. When told that Welch rejected his offer, Gravy stood by his position that there wasn’t an offer for a date – and that he wouldn’t ask her out now: “I guess not. But hey, I respect you and what you’re doing… I hate how people who don’t get p**sy hate on women who are successful in some sexual way.”

Ok, that went way off the rails. Gravy wraps up by saying that women deserve for men to perform their own version of the “Hawk Tuah,” and then comes up with a move he calls the “Splash Stallion.” You can watch the video for yourself if you want to see it, but honestly, you’re better off if you don’t.

What a weird time we’re living in. Honestly, I feel dumber after having read and wrote about this.
