A zebra that had been on the loose for nearly six days was safely captured in the Riverbend neighborhood in North Bend. The mare was part of a group of four zebras being transported from Winlock, Washington, to Anaconda, Montana when they escaped near North Bend. Three were caught soon after, while “Shug” was on the run for days before being captured. Assistance from private citizens and animal control officers led to the rescue. The zebra will be taken to Montana as originally planned. Regional Animal Services of King County expressed gratitude to various parties for their help in the rescue.
