Fans Are Shipping Kevin Costner and Hoda Kotb

Hoda Kotb is surprised to find out that fans are “shipping” her with Kevin Costner!

On Tuesday, July 9, Kotb, 59, and her Today show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen and discovered this unexpected fan sentiment.

An audience member questioned, “How do you feel about viewers ‘shipping’ you and Kevin Costner after he appeared on Today last month? And have the two of you connected since?”

Clearly taken aback, Kotb responded with a surprised, “Wait, what?”

Cohen, 56, explained, “The viewers want the two of you together.” Kotb looked to Guthrie, both mirroring each other’s amazement.

Cohen confirmed enthusiastically, “Yes, yes, yes, yes,” prompting Kotb to say, “I have never heard that, not one time.”

An excited Guthrie then asked, “Well, you heard it now, you up to it?” while clapping her hands.

“Well, if the viewers want it,” Kotb quipped with a smile, looking straight at the camera.

“Give the people what they want,” Guthrie concluded.

The following day on July 10, Kotb’s Today With Hoda and Jenna co-anchor Jenna Bush Hager brought up the possible pairing during their show.

Bush Hager, 42, joked about the whole situation and the fans’ increasing interest in a possible romantic connection between Kotb and the 69-year-old Oscar winner.

“I didn’t know you and Kevin were shipping! I didn’t even know what shipping meant,” confessed Bush Hager, while Kotb admitted she didn’t know the term either.

Although Bush Hager wasn’t familiar with the term, she acknowledged that she was aware fans were playfully supportive of the idea.

“I actually did know because people were coming up to me on the street, and people were like, ‘You should set up Hoda and Kevin Costner,'” she shared. “I didn’t know they were flirting behind my back.”

During their discussion, clips of Costner’s June 20 Today interview were shown, giving fans and Kotb another chance to observe the pair’s interaction.

Through laughter, Kotb remarked, “Y’all are ridiculous.”

“Let’s give him a call, Kevin? I’m just kidding,” Kotb said, making both women burst into laughter.
