‘MasterChef Generations’ Results: Who Was Eliminated Tonight

Night 4 and 5 of MasterChef: Generations’ competition resumed after a brief hiatus, picking up where the generational cooking battle left off. The contestants, representing Baby Boomers, Gen X, Millennials, and Gen Z, faced off in various challenges to claim the coveted title.

The Wednesday night started with the "Birthday Bakes" episode, an individual challenge where Gordon Ramsay tasked the home cooks with creating the best two-layer birthday cake of their lives. As the previous challenge’s winning captain, Anna, a Millennial, was given the advantage of choosing one generation to mix their cake by hand using a whisk instead of electric mixers. She opted for Gen Z, sparing the Baby Boomers, with whom she had teamed up before and found extremely helpful. Additionally, all five members of Team Gen Z were still in the competition, which made her decision easier.

The second episode of the night, episode 5, featured a Mystery Box challenge that took each generation on a nostalgic journey to their childhoods with iconic ingredients from those times. The task was to create a MasterChef-worthy dish using the ingredients from their assigned Mystery Boxes.

Holding the Immunity Pin, Becca from Gen Z had the power to assign the Mystery Boxes to each generation. She chose the Millennial box for her own generation, gave the Baby Boomer box to the Millennials, kept the Gen X box with Gen X, and left the Gen Z box for the Baby Boomers. The contestants had to use at least four ingredients from their boxes, while a limited pantry was available to supplement their main components.

Who won the MasterChef: Generations “Birthday Bakes” challenge?

Judges Gordon Ramsay, Joe Bastianich, and Aarón Sánchez first selected top cakes from each generation: Becca from Gen Z with a chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting, Kamay from Millennials with a lemon confetti cake, Kimberly from Gen X with vanilla cake and strawberry jam filling, and Christopher from Baby Boomers with a Black Forest cake. Becca emerged as the winner, which ensured the safety of the entire Gen Z team and earned her the Immunity Pin for the next episode.

Becca expressed her joy, noting, “The fact that last challenge I was at rock bottom and I felt like a failure, to come into this challenge and make something that the judges loved and to win this Immunity Pin, it feels amazing.”

Who was in the MasterChef: Generations bottom three for “Birthday Bakes”?

Representing Millennials, Anna landed in the bottom three with her brown butter coffee cake. Gen X’s Arthur presented a strawberries and cream cake, while Boomer Geags served a vanilla cake with blueberries. Anna and Geags were both eliminated due to significant mistakes in their cakes.

“It’s simply not fair to send one of you home tonight. Both of your cakes had egregious mistakes,” Gordon Ramsay announced.

Anna and Geags expressed their sentiments about leaving the competition. Geags shared, “The Geags that came into the MasterChef kitchen was kind of naïve. I grew from this,” while Anna said, “I’m proud of myself and what I was able to do in the MasterChef kitchen, but I wanted to take it to the next level. This cake does not define me as a cook.”

Who won the MasterChef: Generations “Memory Lane—Mystery Box” challenge?

Horacio from Baby Boomers shined with his veggie burger croquettes, Hallie from Gen Z with her lemon salmon, Kimberly from Gen X with Asian spiced turkey and hot dog meatballs, and Michael from Millennials with his bran flakes fried pork chop. Michael secured the win and remarked, “I know right now, my mom is losing her mind. It’s almost an affirmation that she is seeing it and she’s been with me this entire time.”

Who was in the MasterChef: Generations bottom three for “Memory Lane”?

In the bottom were Christopher with an undercooked pan-seared chicken thigh from Baby Boomers, Murt with an overcooked Wagyu Filet from Gen Z, and Arthur with a New York strip steak from Gen X. Christopher was eliminated due to the judges being unable to taste his undercooked dish.

“MasterChef is no joke,” Christopher reflected. “It’s a tough journey, but being on MasterChef is not on my bucket list anymore. I am proud that I got to this point. It’s changed my life.”

MasterChef airs Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT on FOX.
