Shannen Doherty Seeks $15K Support Amid ‘Charmed’ Pay Drop

Shannen Doherty has taken legal action against her ex-husband, Kurt Iswarienko, over his spending habits, seeking financial support amid a significant drop in her income. The 53-year-old actress, known for her roles in “Beverly Hills, 90210” and “Charmed,” filed paperwork in Los Angeles on June 14, requesting a monthly spousal support payment of $15,343, retroactive to June 1, 2024. Additionally, she has asked Iswarienko, 49, to contribute $9,100 towards her attorney fees and costs.

Doherty, who has been battling stage four cancer for several years, cited her health issues as a major factor in her inability to work. “Due to my recurrent health issues, I have been largely unable to work and have no future employment prospects,” she stated in court documents. She explained that most of her current income comes from residuals of work done before her marriage, particularly from the television show “Charmed.”

However, Doherty recently learned that “Charmed” will no longer be available on major streaming platforms after June 30, 2024, which will significantly reduce her future residual income. She has not worked since 2022, further exacerbating her financial difficulties.

The actress also highlighted Iswarienko’s financial capacity to assist with her medical expenses, which amounted to $21,640 in 2023 and are expected to increase dramatically once she loses her SAG health insurance due to her inability to work. Doherty accused Iswarienko of prioritizing his own lifestyle over her needs, alleging that he has been spending extravagantly on personal luxuries while claiming insufficient funds to support her.

“While I have been unable to work, incurring exorbitant medical expenses not covered by insurance to undergo experimental treatments in hopes of prolonging my life, Kurt has been utilizing the airplane, spending thousands of dollars at medical spas, jewelry stores, Gucci, and on flights for his ‘agent’, while simultaneously claiming that he has insufficient funds with which to support me,” Doherty alleged. She also claimed that Iswarienko’s agent, Collier Grimm, is his romantic partner.

Doherty further accused Iswarienko of failing to produce necessary documents to evaluate his earning capacity, assets, and income, prompting her to file a separate Motion to Compel. She is seeking an additional $11,800 from Iswarienko for the fees and costs incurred in efforts to obtain his complete responses.

In her spousal support request, Doherty alleged that Iswarienko’s failure to produce certain documents is a deliberate strategy. “It is abundantly clear to me that Kurt is intentionally delaying settlement in hopes that I will not survive the divorce proceedings,” she claimed.

Doherty’s battle with cancer has been ongoing since her initial diagnosis of breast cancer in 2015, which had spread to her lymph nodes. After undergoing treatment, she announced that her cancer was in remission in 2017. However, in 2020, she revealed that the cancer had returned and advanced to stage four. In June 2023, Doherty shared that the cancer had spread to her brain and become terminal, later spreading to her bones as well.

Amid her cancer battle, Doherty filed for divorce from Iswarienko in April 2023 after 11 years of marriage. In December, she claimed during an episode of her “Let’s Be Clear” podcast that infidelity had caused the breakdown of her marriage. She recalled undergoing brain surgery right after learning that Iswarienko had “been carrying on an affair for two years.”

Us Weekly has reached out to both Doherty and Iswarienko for comment on the matter. In Touch Weekly was the first to report the news.
