Alex Rodriguez has completely turned the page on his relationship with Jennifer Lopez, whom he began dating in 2017 before ending his engagement in April 2021 and there is no better proof of this than his reaction to the singer’s wedding to actor Ben Affleck last weekend.
A source close to the professional baseball player, who has been linked to model Kathryne Padgett, told Us Weekly: “He’s happy for her and happy that he’s with the person he’s meant to be with. He’s in a new relationship now and he’s happy too. He is traveling everywhere and living his best life. He’s very focused on family, his career, and his professional life.”
J-Lo and Affleck, who were engaged between 2002 and 2004, married over the weekend in Las Vegas, having reignited their romance shortly after the ‘Get Right’ singer’s breakup with A-Rod.
The source added: “[His] relationship [with Jennifer] ended a while ago – he has made peace with how things ended. He respects her and wishes her well.”
Last week, Alex reflected on the relationship he still has with the singer and revealed that they continue to do what they can for the sake of the children they each have, including their daughters Natasha, 17, and Ella, 14, with his ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis, and Jennifer’s twins Max and Emma. 14, with her ex-husband Marc Anthony.
“Look, we had a great time. Most importantly, we always put children front and center in everything we do… Here’s what I’ll tell you about Jennifer, and I was telling some of my colleagues here the other day, she’s the most talented human being I’ve ever had around. She is the hardest worker. And I think she’s the best live performer in the world today who’s alive.”
For his part, J-Lo shared with his followers some details of their wedding in a Small White Chapel in Sin City and admitted that it was “exactly” what they wanted.
“Last night we flew to Las Vegas, queued for the license with four other couples, all making the same trip to the wedding capital of the world… So with the best witnesses you can imagine, a dress from an old movie and a jacket from Ben’s closet, we read our own vows in the small chapel and gave each other the rings we’ll wear for the rest of our lives.”
