The New WhatsApp Screen Recording Function: A Handy Guide

WhatsApp, the world’s most popular instant communication service, is undergoing a complete overhaul and adding new features to its messaging platform. Among the novelties being introduced are multi-device support, the ability to use one account on two cell phones simultaneously (companion mode), and chat transfer without restoring backups.

In a recent update, the popular technology portal WabetaInfo revealed that WhatsApp is working on a new function that will allow users to record the screen of the platform from the application itself, making it unnecessary to download external programs or APKs.

The Screen Sharing Function

It is important to note that the name of the tool is “screen sharing,” and it will only work when you are in the course of a video call. When you share your screen, it will be recorded and then shared with the recipient. It is also only available in the WhatsApp beta for Android users.

The Guide to Record WhatsApp Screen

To record the WhatsApp screen using the new function, open the WhatsApp beta and start a video call with any contact. A tool will appear at the bottom of the screen with the icon of a smartphone with an arrow pointing to the right.

When you tap this icon, a warning will appear indicating that WhatsApp will have access to all the information visible on your screen. Be sure not to show sensitive information, such as passwords or bank cards, and tap the “Start Now” button located at the bottom right.

The screen recording will begin, and to stop recording, tap on the red button labeled “Stop Sharing.”

This new function will be useful for creating video tutorials, showing conversations without filling up your image gallery with screenshots, and more.

How to Download WhatsApp Beta for Android

To download the WhatsApp beta for Android, access the Google Play Store and search for the WhatsApp application. Press the first app that appears and scroll down to find the “Become a beta tester” option. If it’s not visible, you can access this link to go directly to the WhatsApp Beta page.

Press the “Become a Tester” button and accept the conditions. You will then have to wait a while for the WhatsApp Beta to download.
