Billionaire Jeff Bezos and his girlfriend, Lauren Sánchez, have been making headlines this week after being spotted vacationing in Mallorca aboard a luxurious multi-million dollar yacht. According to reports, the Amazon founder recently acquired the ship for a total of $500 million, which launched in the Balearic Sea, just off the coast of the island of Mallorca.
Before setting sail, the couple arrived at the yacht aboard a helicopter, after which they arrived in Europe on Jeff’s $150 million private plane. The yacht, called Koru, measures 127 meters from bow to stern and is nearly 70 meters high, making it the tallest yacht in the world.
This majestic yacht was built in 2018 at the Oceanco shipyard in the Netherlands. According to the Daily Mail, it cost Jeff Bezos a whopping $500 million, with an additional $25 million annually for maintenance. Despite its hefty price tag, the ship is believed to have ecological facilities for its operation, making it a technologically advanced masterpiece.
While there are no interior details yet, the yacht is known to feature a luxury outdoor pool, a helipad, bars, holds with small boats and jet skis, and even parking for a personal submarine that Bezos had built specifically for his yacht. Media from the Netherlands reported that it was considered to dismantle an old and historic bridge in the city of Rotterdam so that the yacht could pass, since, due to its height, it did not fit. However, the request was denied, and the design and height of the yacht had to be modified instead.
During their holiday aboard the Koru, the paparazzi spotted multiple boxes from Amazon and a rack of garment bags stocked with Dolce & Gabbana clothing, accessories, handbags, and shoes, suggesting that the couple traveled in style. They were seen sunbathing, walking along the ship, chatting with the crew, taking photos, and enjoying the sea views.
Before traveling to Europe, the couple kept themselves busy attending exclusive events and celebrations, such as Coachella in a double date with Kris Jenner and Corey Gamble, and later at the Miami Grand Prix, where Jeff Bezos supported the team of McLaren. With this stunning yacht, he can now enjoy his leisure time in unparalleled luxury and comfort.
