Loki, the Scandinavian god of malice entered the Marvel universe at the same time as his brother Thor, the god of thunder. Despite lesser popularity than his brother, the death of this antihero in Infinity War has upset more than one.

However, Loki is not the god of malice for nothing. Thanks to a return to the past, he manages to escape his fateful fate in Endgame. An unexpected scenario that made the bed to all kinds of theories that were swept aside by the first season of the series centered on the story of this character we love to hate.

With Tom Hiddleston in the title role, the first season of Loki led the studio led by Kevin Feige to announce a new season. This, while we expect the president of Marvel Studios to do the same for WandaVision 2 or Hawkeye 2.

  • According to Backstage Magazine, filming for the season will take place in the summer of 2022 at Pinewood Studios.
  • Official release date: it is not known at the moment, some rumored corridor noises indicate that season 2 should be available at the end of 2023.

Filming information:

  • In an interview with Empire, lead actor Tom Hiddleston hinted that in the new season, Loki will try to fix his mistakes.
  • It was thanks to Owen Wilson who plays the role of Mobius M. Mobius in the series that we learned that the second season of the series was in production. At the same time, he took advantage of the microphone of WIRED to reassure fans of the series regarding the effectiveness of a sequel for the series.
  • Kate Herron, who produced the first season, will no longer be at the helm for the new season, according to Deadline. On the other hand, the head writer, Michael Waldron will be there. This should help maintain a certain consistency between the two seasons of the series.
  • The British actor totals nearly eleven careers as the official face of Loki in the MCU. He should in the near future give way to the new generation a bit like Chris Evans with Anthony Mackie or Professor Barner with She-Hulk.
  • In the case of Loki, the succession should go to Lady Loki who here acts as a ward of the god of the malice of which she is the incarnation.

Loki Season 2 Plot

LOKI Season 2

For the moment, nothing has leaked about the narrative. But, it is very plausible that season 2 can teach us more about how VAT works. For the moment, it keeps a good part of its secrets. Regarding Kang (spoiler alert), the version killed in the end of season 1 by Sylvie may not be the original.

This one could be part of the variants of Kang available in season 2. The season 1 finale where we see Loki looking at a statue resembling Kang in a TVA is surely the key to this mystery.

On the other hand, we can also imagine that the new season will bring more details regarding the consequences of the reappearance of Loki in another VAT (Court of Anachronistic Variations).

In it, Loki should evolve with characters that they master very well, but who do not know who he is. An option that would allow Loki to repair his mistakes by once again wearing the hero’s costume. For this, several alternatives are presented to the producers of the series.

The first is for Loki to reveal Kang’s true identity to Agent Mobius. This would lead the latter to ally himself with the god of malice in order to stop the character played by Jonathan Majors. The second alternative is that Loki is inspired by Sylvie in order to fight Kang alone. For this, it could first destroy VAT before seeking to eliminate it later.
